FUTURE AIMS
I have completed two Fellowships in IMRT/3-D CRT and Brachytherapy at MD Anderson Cancer Center and Beth Israel Medical Center respectively, and along with over three years of clinical experience, have now acquired a clinical post in the US. I am Board Certified in Radiation Oncology and have an active Florida Medical License and DEA certification.

My main interests include head and neck, genitourinary, lung and GI cancers and sarcomas and brachytherapy in general in particular including HDR, prostate seed implantation and intra operative radiation therapy.

During my Brachytherapy Fellowship my clinical duties enabled me to engage in H&N brachytherapy (50 cases/year), LDR prostate implants with both pre loaded needles and use of the Mick Applicator (100 cases), IORT to the H&N/Pelvis (25 cases), GYN insertions - LDR/HDR (25 cases), Breast implants- LDR/HDR (20 cases), Sarcoma (5 cases), and several SRS, endobronchial, pediatric and intravascular brachytherapy cases. A total of about 220 cases.

I have also had experience with 3D CRT and IMRT software programs at MDACC during my previous 12 month Fellowship including Pinnacle, Corvus 4.0 and the latest ADAC IMRT software systems. I have developed extensive experience with the use of CT Simulation, fluoroscopic simulation along with the use of Cobalt Units, Linear Accelerators (incl. MLC/MMLC), BAT based localization systems, Orthovoltage and Superficial X Ray Units.

I hope to further develop the already high standard radiation practice with my colleague and mentor Dr. Alison Calkins in the coming years with particular focus in prostate cancer with the use of HDR brachytherapy and later intraoperative radiation therapy for recurrent and locally advanced tumors and to continue the use of IMRT treatments utilising our newly acquired linear accelerators. I am also interested in further developing our stereotactic radiosurgery and fractionated radiotherapy program with the assistance of our highly skilled neurosurgeons and to continue fostering our rapidly developing GYN program due to the recent acquisition of Dr.Giselle Ghurani at St. Joseph’s Women’s Hospital. I am confident that our practice will continue to grow and establish itself as part of one of the premier Oncology centers in West/Central Florida.
